Taxes Common Application

Global Warming is a huge issue that will really impact us...
So what exactly is global warming? Picture in your mind that you are asleep in bed with lots of blankets covering you suddenly, you wake up all hot and sweaty, so you kick off the covers. Cool air hits your legs. You feel much better and you fall back to sleep again. Now picture the earth. The heat come from the sun get trapped under the blanket and the earth begin feel very hot, but the earth cannot just kick off the cover to cool itself down. This is Global Warming.
Of all the gases in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) is also necessary to our life. CO2 is very bad for humans and the entire living thing on planet Earth is part of natural carbon cycle
All the gases in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) contributes the most to global warming, but CO2 is also necessary to our life. CO2 is very bad for humans and the entire living thing on planet earth. Every living thing on planet earth is part of natural carbon cycle. This is how it has always worked, but recently we have been asking too much of the carbon cycle; Cars, factories, and electric power have been putting too much of this buried carbon into our atmosphere.
Everybody might think why is global warming so important now? Well, it is because the earth is the only home we have. Global warming is causing summer nights as hot as summer days. Summer time gets longer and longer each year. That way people will get too much heat and more people will start turning on the air conditioner. One thing can spare to lots thing. It also causing less snow in fall in the high altitudes and winter time will get shorter and shorter each year. Global warming is a huge problem happening now. The good news is that we still have time to solve the problem. During several glacial periods, or ice ages, many parts the world were much colder than they are now. These periods alternated with shorter periods when the ice melted, and the climate was generally warmer.
People all over the world have burned more and more fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. These fuels are nonrenewable. Fossil fuels also release pollutants, including carbon dioxide and other gases, all of these things contribute to global warming.
Warm water is less dense than cold water, so global warming expands oceans. More important thing is that melting ice turns to water, so the warming of the too polar regions and of the glaciers around the world will potentially have a huge impact on sea level.
Since human health depends on good environment al conditions and is linked to climate, experts believe that global warming will hurt human life in several different ways. Air pollution, poor soil conditions, and inadequate food and water would increase health problems and the spared of disease will also largely increase.
The intergovernmental panel on climate change lists, lots species as being particularly threatened by global warming: the Emperor penguin, Polar bears, birds, Ringed seals, the Arctic fox, the Beluga whale, Staghorn corals, Salmon, and other species.
How we can help from now; engines burn gasoline or diesel fuel and are one of the main producers of the gases that cause global warming. A simple way to help reduce global warming is to walk or ride bicycle. Every time you boil water in a kettle or turn on a light, you are using electricity that has probably been produced by burning fossil fuels in power stations. If you only boil as much as you need and turn lights off when you are not using them, that way less carbon dioxide will go into the atmosphere. You also can buy energy-efficient light bulbs that use only a fraction of energy ordinary light bulbs use. Recycling is the best way of helping cat down global warming. Recycling not only save the materials, the goods are made from, but also the energy would need to make new materials. Using energy means burning fossil fuels. Always try to recycle plastic bottles, glass, tins, and papers. Helping the earth is the same as you are helping yourself.

    The reflection--Financial Aid

The financial aid is a funds provided to students and families to help to pay for postsecondary educational expenses. There are many ways to get financial aid; there are scholarships, grants, loans, and employment. The federal government provided lots money to those college students. At United States, everybody have chance to go to college because the government, states, private sources, civic organization, churches, and employers. Other countries, some people who don't have money, they won't have the opportunity to go to college. I think I will apply for scholarships, grants, and also I will try to work at the college that I want to go to. The scholarships and grants are very easy to get and I don't have to pay the money back. Once I am the employer at college, they will give me something that I need at school such as free to live at school or free parking and other kinds of stuff. The financial aid is a great program to help the college students.

The reflection--what I learned from reaserching different colleges

During the research those colleges or Universities, I have learned lots things about colleges and Universities. All the colleges and Universities have lots courses to help students’ skills and help their major. The purpose of going to college is to help students to get ready for the future and help students to expand their knowledge. The main thing that student will learned at college or University is Time management because college students have no time to waste and have lots things to do. College courses are very hard. It contains lots offer and lots hard work.

The reflection--How my writing has improved throughout the year

The first semester of 2010, I had Ms.Devaney; she encouraged me to write a short essay. I wrote “This What I Believe” and “American dream.” Both of the essays are very short and didn’t have thesis and also didn’t have very clear information of the topic. It contained personal experience, but I didn’t put enough detail into it.
The second semester, I have Mrs. L.G.; she explained to me about what should I put on my essay and explained to me all the different sections; like Introduction, thesis, personal experiences, and conclusion. I learned how to write an essay using different terms and different words to describe things and also use different point of views to write an essay.
I learned that each essay has different section. Each section provides different information and he information need to have connection with the topic. Throughout this year, I know how to give a strong thesis statement, and also how to write a clear conclusion. Sometimes, when we are writing an essay, we have to provide lots facts and different kind of information about the topic.
It’s also very important that we give a personal experience that is related to the main point of the essay. When I am writing an essay, I have to make sure that I can be able to use different words to describe things and also give lots details about my experience.
This year at International High School, I have learned lots things about how to write an essay and also I have improved a lot throughout the year. I understand more things than before and my writing has getting better and better.
