Taxes Common Application

Global Warming is a huge issue that will really impact us...
So what exactly is global warming? Picture in your mind that you are asleep in bed with lots of blankets covering you suddenly, you wake up all hot and sweaty, so you kick off the covers. Cool air hits your legs. You feel much better and you fall back to sleep again. Now picture the earth. The heat come from the sun get trapped under the blanket and the earth begin feel very hot, but the earth cannot just kick off the cover to cool itself down. This is Global Warming.
Of all the gases in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) is also necessary to our life. CO2 is very bad for humans and the entire living thing on planet Earth is part of natural carbon cycle
All the gases in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) contributes the most to global warming, but CO2 is also necessary to our life. CO2 is very bad for humans and the entire living thing on planet earth. Every living thing on planet earth is part of natural carbon cycle. This is how it has always worked, but recently we have been asking too much of the carbon cycle; Cars, factories, and electric power have been putting too much of this buried carbon into our atmosphere.
Everybody might think why is global warming so important now? Well, it is because the earth is the only home we have. Global warming is causing summer nights as hot as summer days. Summer time gets longer and longer each year. That way people will get too much heat and more people will start turning on the air conditioner. One thing can spare to lots thing. It also causing less snow in fall in the high altitudes and winter time will get shorter and shorter each year. Global warming is a huge problem happening now. The good news is that we still have time to solve the problem. During several glacial periods, or ice ages, many parts the world were much colder than they are now. These periods alternated with shorter periods when the ice melted, and the climate was generally warmer.
People all over the world have burned more and more fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. These fuels are nonrenewable. Fossil fuels also release pollutants, including carbon dioxide and other gases, all of these things contribute to global warming.
Warm water is less dense than cold water, so global warming expands oceans. More important thing is that melting ice turns to water, so the warming of the too polar regions and of the glaciers around the world will potentially have a huge impact on sea level.
Since human health depends on good environment al conditions and is linked to climate, experts believe that global warming will hurt human life in several different ways. Air pollution, poor soil conditions, and inadequate food and water would increase health problems and the spared of disease will also largely increase.
The intergovernmental panel on climate change lists, lots species as being particularly threatened by global warming: the Emperor penguin, Polar bears, birds, Ringed seals, the Arctic fox, the Beluga whale, Staghorn corals, Salmon, and other species.
How we can help from now; engines burn gasoline or diesel fuel and are one of the main producers of the gases that cause global warming. A simple way to help reduce global warming is to walk or ride bicycle. Every time you boil water in a kettle or turn on a light, you are using electricity that has probably been produced by burning fossil fuels in power stations. If you only boil as much as you need and turn lights off when you are not using them, that way less carbon dioxide will go into the atmosphere. You also can buy energy-efficient light bulbs that use only a fraction of energy ordinary light bulbs use. Recycling is the best way of helping cat down global warming. Recycling not only save the materials, the goods are made from, but also the energy would need to make new materials. Using energy means burning fossil fuels. Always try to recycle plastic bottles, glass, tins, and papers. Helping the earth is the same as you are helping yourself.

    The reflection--Financial Aid

The financial aid is a funds provided to students and families to help to pay for postsecondary educational expenses. There are many ways to get financial aid; there are scholarships, grants, loans, and employment. The federal government provided lots money to those college students. At United States, everybody have chance to go to college because the government, states, private sources, civic organization, churches, and employers. Other countries, some people who don't have money, they won't have the opportunity to go to college. I think I will apply for scholarships, grants, and also I will try to work at the college that I want to go to. The scholarships and grants are very easy to get and I don't have to pay the money back. Once I am the employer at college, they will give me something that I need at school such as free to live at school or free parking and other kinds of stuff. The financial aid is a great program to help the college students.

The reflection--what I learned from reaserching different colleges

During the research those colleges or Universities, I have learned lots things about colleges and Universities. All the colleges and Universities have lots courses to help students’ skills and help their major. The purpose of going to college is to help students to get ready for the future and help students to expand their knowledge. The main thing that student will learned at college or University is Time management because college students have no time to waste and have lots things to do. College courses are very hard. It contains lots offer and lots hard work.

The reflection--How my writing has improved throughout the year

The first semester of 2010, I had Ms.Devaney; she encouraged me to write a short essay. I wrote “This What I Believe” and “American dream.” Both of the essays are very short and didn’t have thesis and also didn’t have very clear information of the topic. It contained personal experience, but I didn’t put enough detail into it.
The second semester, I have Mrs. L.G.; she explained to me about what should I put on my essay and explained to me all the different sections; like Introduction, thesis, personal experiences, and conclusion. I learned how to write an essay using different terms and different words to describe things and also use different point of views to write an essay.
I learned that each essay has different section. Each section provides different information and he information need to have connection with the topic. Throughout this year, I know how to give a strong thesis statement, and also how to write a clear conclusion. Sometimes, when we are writing an essay, we have to provide lots facts and different kind of information about the topic.
It’s also very important that we give a personal experience that is related to the main point of the essay. When I am writing an essay, I have to make sure that I can be able to use different words to describe things and also give lots details about my experience.
This year at International High School, I have learned lots things about how to write an essay and also I have improved a lot throughout the year. I understand more things than before and my writing has getting better and better.

Should United States abolish the Death Penalty or should not? (second semester)

Every country in the world has death penalty. There are different ways to give a person death penalty such as using gun, drowning, beating to death, burning alive, and impalements. United States has the painless death penalty. They use gun to give people death penalty. The United States’ judges think painless death penalty is easier and quicker. The death penalty makes humans sound evil. However, I agree that the death penalty should not be abolished because those people will never discontinue killing people and all the denizens of one country will never feel safe. Therefore, the death penalty should not be abolished.
The people make a rotation to killing people. They killed a person first. They think that nothing happened and they decided to continue kill people. It is like a person gives you a candy. You tasted it and you like it and you decided to ask for another candy.  The main purpose to give a person death penalty is helping them to discontinue kill people. If the judge didn’t give them death penalty, they will think that killing people is a right thing to do.  It’s like using dugs, once they use the dugs and will never discontinue. On the newspaper, we always see people died because of crime member fought with each other. One of the News from newspaper is talking about the killing rotation. The police asked one man from the crime about what happened for the man that just died; he said “He got beating to death. Today is his turn. Each day, one person in the crime will get beating to death for practice. It is like a killing rotation. Thank you, police man. You saved my life. Maybe tomorrow is my turn. Ha-ha.”  I feel very uncomfortable every time when I read this kind of news and feel very bad for those people that died.

The death penalty makes people feel safer and more comfortable to live around city. They don’t have to worry next minute get kill by someone. One of my friends always feels like she is in danger. One of the days, I decided to ask her about what really happened to her. She asked me if everyday I can walk home with her. I thought something must be wrong. Three weeks later, we get to know each other; she suddenly said that she is going to other school. I asked her the reason. After I heard the reason about her changing school, I couldn’t believe her. She told me that some people are trying to find her family and want to kill her family. I decided to let her go home by herself one time. She said she will wait for me until I am done with tutorial. Before she changed school, I went to her house and she told me that she wants to die because she feels very uncomfortable and not safe. I don’t really know how to help her and it was the last time that I talk to her. Safety is the most important thing. Give those killers death penalty will make the entire community safer. Without death penalty, the world will be a very danger.
If United States is not abolishing an effective and quick death penalty system, then it would put off crime and save more lives. The problem is that United States doesn’t used death penalty very often, and when United States used it takes more than ten years for the actual execution we cannot see its limit effect in America. A killer who is executed has a 0% chance of committing another murder, because when someone is put to jail for his entire life there is a chance of jail escape or murder of a jail protector. Fear of putting blameless men to death has been lowered extensively with new forensic tools, and the legality of it is no longer questioned. It only makes sense for America not to abolish the death penalty.

    America’s Hope (first semester)

President Barack Obama, in his speech “The Audacity of Hope” appeals to Americans hope for better America. Obama’s purpose is to encourage Americans to vote for Democrats to make America better. He adopts a hope tone in order to change other people’s mind to vote for Democrats. Obama used several rhetorical devices like pathos and ethos to describe his feeling.
Obama begins his speech by describing America’s strength. He emphasizes America’s greatness beginning with our belief in “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” and ending with our ability to “participate in the political process without fear.”  His repetition of we can instills a feeling of hope in America and his audience by giving this speech. It is a speech that gives America hope. He has a hope that people to vote for Democrats.
Obama then describes the divisions in America. He attempts to bring harmony to a convention that may be divisive. People belief that the divisions between different classes of society are not as sharply marked as they used to be. Obama thinks differently, he believes that there is only one United States of America. “There is not a liberal America and a conservative America-There is the United States of America.” He attempts to tell that we still come together as one America Family. One country would be powerful by having good Democrats. The Democrats can direct us to do things better.
Obama believes that there are better days ahead for America “the hope of America.” Hope in the face of difficulty. Hope in the face of uncertainty. The Audacity of Hope! In the end, that is God’s greatest gift to us, the bedrock of this nation.” It’s the hope that can make America have lots power to face those difficulties. It is the hope that can help the people and America. People vote for good Democrats is the best thing to make the America become better.
In conclusion, Obama hopes that he can use this speech “The Audacity of Hope” to encourage Americans to vote for Democrats and also he hopes that he can bring everybody together and make better America than America will have better future and better life.

Which colleges are you applying to and why??

I want go to HCC for two years and then transfer to University of Houston. I want go to HCC because I want take some English classes and some basic classes at HCC. They do have very good English as second language class (ESL). It is cheaper to go to HCC first and then transfer to other university or college. HCC is a great school for those transient students because they can take some courses at HCC in order to fulfill degree requirements at their home institution. HCC also have smaller class than other colleges. It will help me not so uncomfortable because I will not be shy to ask the teacher questions.

Each of HCC campus has a career Resource Center (CRC). Those centers have tools and services to help you assess students’ skills and interests, explore various occupations, and prepare students for the job search. I want go to University of Houston because the teachers make the work very easy and easy to understand what they want to let the students to know.
I want to transfer to the University of Houston because they easier to get in than other college. The University of Houston is not the very top school, but it is better for me since my English is not that great. The University of Houston has a great art teacher and a very good art program and art classes. I went to visit University of Houston many times. They have some basic classes that students can take before they want to go to other college or university.
In order to get into HCC and University of Houston, my GPA needs to be higher than 2.0 and need to be graduated from high school or pass the GED test. I will be graduated from High School, so I don’t have to worry about that. I have to have community service hours. And I have to apply for the financial aid such as scholarships, grants, loans, and employment. I’m also saving money to go to college because it is very expensive to go to college.
I want to major on some program that are about art and design because art is the thing that I am very good at and I am very interested about art. I want to be any kind of designer when I grow up. And I am planning to go to different kinds of Art school so I can learn lots things at different places. I also took lots art classes throughout my high school year.
